About
Meet Miss Kimi!
Hello! My name is Kimi McMahon. I absolutely love being an early childhood educator. From many years of experience, I’ve grown to have a very clear vision of how to nurture and educate young children. Safety and wellbeing are the top priority for me. I will always provide a harmonious environment where children can thrive, building and developing life skills, emotional intelligence, and social skills. I love to teach children about the world around them and see the world through their eyes. We will focus on education through play, nature-based activities, exploration, music, art, baking/cooking, and so much more. I also prioritize building and maintaining meaningful connections with the children I care for and their families. Love is at the center of all that I do.
A bit about me – I enjoy spending time with nature, family, and friends. I am an explorer at heart. I love crafting, and learning about many different forms of art is one of my passions. On a weekend you can find me tending to my houseplants and garden, finding ducks to feed, or taking a walk on a local greenway. I’m also a huge Star Wars fan!
I have spent the last nine years as a career nanny. My experience ranges from newborns to teenagers, with most of my time spent with toddlers. I’ve planned activities and outings and am always one step ahead of the game, making sure the children’s needs are met and that they always feel cared for. I also spent a year working for Poway Unified School District’s daycare in the 2 year old classroom and loved playing with and supporting the kids in an educational environment. I spent four years with Poway Unified School District’s Afterschool and Summer Childcare program. Leading the classroom taught me just how important it is for children to develop a love of learning at an early age and gave me the knowledge and passion I needed to become an early childhood educator.

Learning and Care Objectives
I will care for young children (3 months-6 years of age) with a maximum ratio of 4:1 in my home in Maryville, Tennessee. We will follow a routine, with daily outside time (weather permitting), two healthy meals and snacks, age appropriate nap/rest time, planned educational activities, free play, and hands-on learning.
I will place an emphasis on community building and education in all that we do together. Each child’s individual needs are very important to me, so I will work together with parents to ensure that we are a great fit.
I will teach children to respect themselves, and the people around them. I will foster a growth mindset and help children build confidence and resilience, so they can thrive and grow to be the best people they can be.
